Reading A Portrait

.
FIRST GLANCE

10-31-15Cropped

He: resigned, distracted
She: perturbed, wondering
Both: uneasy–he more than she;
hard working, poor and proud, third
hand clothing borrowed,
duty-bound to family
portraiture
.

SECOND GLANCE

headshots

It’s in the eyes.

The lightness of her eyes heals his soul,
energizes his body and fortifies
the courage in his heart.

His soft pillow eyes, are her refuge for rest
and renewal. He anoints her with the
healing tonic of his touch.

Her love for her husband feels larger than
the universe. Her mind cannot fathom
it, yet she recognizes the vibration

within
her heart in each moment.

As far and wide as her love flies, so this man’s
devotion to his wife is deeply grounded in
the anchored bond of his promise.

In their privacy, when her fiery passions overflow,
his heart is open and desirous of her many
gifts, though
his capacity to receive the
full
heat of her ardor is lacking.

Her husband has never known of such intensity
in expressing
love’s burning emotions
outside of the heart.
He is learning.
.

LAST GLANCE
.

And so they go, at their own pace.

She, a patient woman.

He, a willing man.

Both–

Grateful, and

perpetually

astonished

by each

other’s

Love.
